Returning to My Center
It’s so easy to get lost in the noise of the world - what others are doing, saying, and thinking - that we forget how to truly tune in to ourselves.
Everywhere we look, the message of “more, bigger, faster, stronger” seems to echo through every interaction and experience.
But how often do we stop and ask ourselves: Are these thoughts even mine?
Over the past few weeks, I found myself in spaces and situations that made me feel small, diminished, and if I’m honest, undervalued. No matter how hard I tried to be “present,” my words and energy just didn’t align. And when that misalignment lingered, I slipped into resentment.
“Why isn’t anyone listening to me?”
“If they’d just stop talking and let me contribute…”
“What about my feelings?”
Each of these thoughts came from a place of helplessness - as if I had no control over myself or my energy.
I felt stuck. Ignored. Unseen.
But the truth was, I wasn’t being ignored at all. I had simply stopped connecting to what I truly value.
Deep conversations.
Slow, intentional days.
Soul nourishment.
Somewhere along the way, I began neglecting the practices that keep me grounded - no meditation, no Reiki, no journaling, no rest.
By the end of those whirlwind weeks, my body finally said, enough. Physical symptoms became my alarm clock, forcing me to listen.
It made me realize how softly our soul speaks. Its messages begin as subtle nudges that are easy to miss when we’re consumed by external noise. To hear them, we have to return to stillness… to our center.
My Commitments for the Month Ahead
Reiki sessions with my mentor – to realign and reset my energy field.
Daily breathwork and meditation – to regulate my nervous system from a proactive, grounded state.
Finishing my stack of books – to nurture my mind and spirit with quiet focus.
Monthly massages – to move both stagnant and active energy through and out of the body.
Consistent movement – because a body in motion stays in flow.
This is my gentle reminder to slow down, to listen, and to return home…..to myself.
